It was a dreary Sunday yesterday, clouds, to snow, to ice, just not a sunny day. There were three of us on this adventure, including Louisiana, Arkansas, and Pennsylvania. We set out when there was not a flake in the air, headed toward the Otter. It's a place that brews its own beer on the other side of the river. Nice place, football on the tube, beer in the big shiny tanks, lots of space and lots of light. The food was a decent value, with huge portions coming in at around ten bucks. The food is meant to be shared and probably consumed after a few beers. Service was a little goofy, with our barkeep comparing the beers to budweiser and bud light. Moving on, we ended up at the Wine God bar, just up the hill. Walking in to this place was comfortable, relaxing and phunky. Wood and exposed brick dominated the area, with a wide selection of beers, eight pool tables and some nice rum offerings the Wine God elivated our Sunday to a new level. It was a sweet find over in New Paltz. Moving forward in the adventure, flakes had begun to fall from the sky and we continued cautiously back across the river. One draft beer at a predominately Jets bar near campus, yielded nothing really to write about other than the Jets won. Traversing back towards campus, a Mexican restaurant beckoned a stop and the day was brought to a close with delicious beef tongue tacos and me trying to have a conversation in Spanish, no bueno.
Cheers
